Your plan

Every resident receives a personalized treatment and recovery plan.

Your personal needs shape the plan we design with you. On arrival, we assess your needs, identify your goals and arrange a schedule of care and learning suited to you. Your plan evolves as you make progress, encounter challenges and build new skills. You share the residence and the Twelve Lodge Method with other men, while your goals, priorities and pace of learning remain individual.

The 12 Lodge Method · A rhythm we return to

Understand in the morning. Build skills in the afternoon. Practise in everyday life.

The 12 Lodge Method is our own original philosophy and curriculum. Its repeating Reset, Balance and Wellness Circles connect group learning, four books, reflection and everyday practice. The shared daily and weekly rhythm leaves room for an individual focus.

Reset, Balance and Wellness are three connected Circles we return to day after day and week after week—not phases completed once over 42 days. The calendar connects understanding with learning and application; what you notice in everyday life can shape your next reflection, Circle discussion or human Guide conversation. Personal goals guide focus and pacing within the shared curriculum.

Explore each Circle

The overlap represents shared learning and practice. All three Circles connect; we return to them daily and weekly, rather than completing them once.

Weekday mornings

Reset · Understand

Morning Reset Circles explore triggers, how addiction can develop, and your own patterns, emotions and experiences. Build understanding with curiosity—not an assumption that one cause explains every person’s addiction.

Learn & practise

Notice a situation that brings up a craving or strong emotion. Reflect on what happened, what you felt and which pattern you want to understand with your human Guide.

Connected, not completed

Bring that understanding into Balance skills. Everyday Wellness practice may reveal another question to return to in Reset.

Planned Haven reflection can help you connect learning with your own observations and chosen questions for a human Guide. It supports human care—not therapy or a replacement for counselling.

The weekend extends the practice

Weekend mornings keep their own rhythm: Saturday’s two circles focus on weekly review, integration and applied learning; Sunday’s two focus on Wellness and family preparation/integration. Saturday then makes space for supervised afternoon exploration with breaks and check-ins. Eligible family participation and suitable on-site alternatives connect Sunday learning with real life.

Return, reflect, practise again

Planned Haven learning, reflection and journaling connect all three Circles alongside human care. Return to understanding, skills and practice as needed, prepare your chosen questions for a Guide, and keep useful learning close at home. Lifetime digital Haven access is included. Residents learn and use Haven daily during residence; consented sharing, permissions and review scope will be confirmed before use. AI is not counselling.

Your next step

12 Lodge is a planned all-male residential wellness centre in Ottawa for drug and alcohol recovery, with space for up to 10 residents.

Eligibility is assessed individually. Admissions can discuss whether the 12 Lodge Method is appropriate for your needs. A question or referral does not confirm admission.

No on-site medical detox at opening. Anyone requiring withdrawal management must complete appropriate care before residential admission. Seek qualified medical guidance rather than stopping substances on your own.
